East Java Blue Fire
Our East Java Blue Fire coffee is surprisingly light for an Indonesian grown bean, delivering dark chocolate, notes of dried plum as well as black tea and a limey-citrus that lingers on your palate.
This coffee is grown in Java's Bondowoso area - just south of the Java Sea. Grown at an altitude of at least 4,000 feet, the coffee is comprised of Osda, Cobra and Typica coffee varieties. The semi-washed processing sparks a compromise between a clean, washed processed cup and flavors that may linger too long that can sometimes come with a natural processed coffee.
These beans are a Grade 1 coffee - the highest grade available for beans from Indonesia and the Java region.
Why Is It Called Blue Fire?
This coffee comes from the fertile soils nurtured by nearby Mount Ijen. That's an active volcano that's known around the world for visible blue flames caused by ignited sulfur gases.
