About our Colombian Caldas Juan Felipe Aristazabal
This coffee comes from small producers in the Caldas department region of Colombia. (That’s an area in the Andes Mountain range between Bogota and Medellin.) In that area, about 6500 feet above sea level, farmers grow the coffee and send them to the community wet mill. There, Juan Felipe Aristizabal oversees the processing of the coffee. In this case, they sun-dry the coffee berries for 30 thirty days on raised beds. Then, they sort the berries. Those beans that make the cut are on their way to Sugarwood Coffee where we expertly roast them to perfection in micro-batches.
